The Guzzle H2O Guide Prefilter for Stream Portable Water Filtration & Purification System from Nomadic Supply Company® works well for water sources with difficult-to-filter sediment. The 0.35 micron pleated filter offers increased protection against fine sediment found in rivers or high turbidity water sources. The Guide Prefilter also offers higher throughput to maximize Stream flow rates. The prefilter connects to the Guzzle H2O Stream inlet hose.
Guzzle H2O Guide Prefilter Cleaning:
Brush off debris by hand or hose off with fresh water. Unlike our carbon block filter cartridges, there is no suggested replacement schedule. Replace if it becomes damaged or increasingly difficult to clean.

What do I have to maintain?
The only consumable is the carbon block cartridge. They’re rated for 1000 gallons of city water or 6 months. We have ours sourced in the US with the best formulation we know.
How is it powered?
It has a rechargeable Lithium battery. It takes about 2 hours to recharge.
Does 12v or 110/220v charge faster?
They each take about 2 hours to recharge.
When do I have to replace the Scout prefilter?
The Scout can be rinsed and reused. You should only need to replace the Scout if there is damage or rinsing no longer seems to work.
The same method can be applied to the Guide prefilter.
*You cannot rinse the carbon block cartridge for reuse.
What if I only use the Stream intermittently? Do you have recommendations?
We recommend keeping the Stream charged, or at least charging it every month or two. It can also stay plugged in. The charger automatically turns itself off.
To extend the life of your carbon block cartridge between uses, we recommend opening the housing and letting the carbon block cartridge completely dry out.
