- MAXTRAX FUSE SHACKLE Requirement: YOU MUST USE a MAXTRAX FUSE SHACKLE in the MAXTRAX RECOVERY SYSTEM during any vehicle recovery — if the system is overloaded, the Fuse Shackle is designed to be the weakest link and expected point of failure.
- Compatible With: MAXTRAX HITCH, MAXTRAX KINETIC ROPE, MAXTRAX STATIC ROPE, MAXTRAX WINCH ROPE, MAXTRAX WINCH RING, or a vehicle’s rated recovery point.
- Rated Recovery Points Only: Only use rated recovery points when connecting the MAXTRAX FUSE SHACKLE or MAXTRAX CORE SHACKLE to a vehicle.
- Minimum Breaking Strength Guidance: Minimum breaking strength recommended to be between 2 and 3 times the gross vehicle mass (GVM) of any vehicle it is used with.
- Use Restrictions: Must not be used for lifting or conventional towing.
- Water Saturation Warning: Strength and stretch are reduced when saturated with water — factor this into use.
- Recovery Damper Requirement: A recovery damper, heavy bag, or blanket must be draped over the strap during use to reduce unintentional rebound.
- Care Instructions: Wash off, rinse with clean fresh water, and air dry at the earliest opportunity after use.
- Storage: Store inside the MAXTRAX RECOVERY KIT BAG to protect from external environmental weather factors.
